Hartog Lucerne Plus is chaff based on high-quality alfalfa, enriched with linseed oil. The product was developed for horses that need a valuable source of protein and support for condition and appearance.

Alfalfa is a rich source of readily absorbed protein, fibre and calcium, which play a key role in building and repairing muscle and in the proper working of the digestive system. That is why the product is particularly suitable for sport horses in intensive training. In addition, the high fibre content encourages chewing and increases saliva production, which supports digestive health.

The addition of linseed oil supplies valuable omega-3 fatty acids, which support the condition of the skin and coat and give it a healthy shine. Linseed oil is also a source of slow-release energy, so it does not cause hyperactivity.

A modern production process has made it possible to spray the chaff with pharmaceutical-grade glycerine, which is an extra source of energy. The coating on the chaff also helps limit the risk of irritating the horse’s sensitive digestive system, and so contributes to better wellbeing.
