Black cumin cake

Black cumin cake is produced as a by-product of pressing oil from black cumin (Nigella sativa), and it is a valuable addition to the horse’s diet. Polecany for all types of horses and ponies, especially those with allergies, lowered immunity and that are too thin. For use as an addition to the basic feed, to oats or even to a mash, adding variety to the ration. Black cumin cake can be fed dry or wet, after soaking in warm water to a soft mash. Especially for older horses that have dental problems.

Black cumin cake has a natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect because it contains thymoquinone. It is therefore useful against infections and inflammation, especially of the skin. Thanks to its antihistamine properties and its antioxidants, it can also be very useful for horses with signs of allergy and those prone to respiratory disease.

The product is also a source of protein with a favourable amino acid profile, and of fat, so it effectively supports muscle repair and recovery of the body. The fats it contains are also rich in omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. Omega fatty acids have a positive effect on the condition of the skin, coat and hooves and support the immune system.

Black cumin cake has further useful properties. For example, it creates conditions that do not favour parasites multiplying, which slows the build-up of worms in the horse. It also soothes irritation of the stomach and intestines and is a natural pain reliever. The product comes as a pellet, so it is convenient to use.
