Dostępny sezonowo “Isotonic Mash”, that is, electrolytes in the form of a mash, is back… and now with new dried apple slices! 🍏 It is an ideal complementary meal all year round, looking after hydration and your horse’s digestive system. The product is particularly recommended for horses exposed to intense work or struggling with excessive sweating. Quick and easy to prepare, once soaked it can be a daily addition to the diet during stressful situations and competitions. The mash can be made with either cold or warm water, and its consistency adjusted to the horse’s preference. After soaking in cold water, because some of the ingredients are ground, the mash is ready in a flash, in just 5 minutes!

Along with sweat, the horse loses a lot of fluid and minerals such as sodium, chloride, potassium and magnesium. The addition of electrolytes, namely sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and magnesium oxide, replaces these minerals and at the same time helps maintain proper hydration when the horse’s need for minerals is higher during intense work. The dextrose in the mash also improves the absorption of all the electrolytes it contains.

The Isotonic Mash formula naturally supports not only hydration but also the horse’s digestive system, supplying many highly digestible nutrients and fibre, thanks to wheat bran, sunflower and dried apple rich in fibre. The mucilage from linseed has a protective effect on the digestive tract, which minimises the risk of gastric ulcers in the horse, and chamomile herb has an antispasmodic effect and contains medicinal substances that protect the mucous membrane.

The recipe includes nourishing bee pollen 🐝, which strengthens the body and supports the immune system, increasing resistance to infection. Dried apple and rosehip make the mash exceptionally tasty, so giving electrolytes that horses are often reluctant to eat becomes easier. Dried apple and rosehip are also a source of vitamins E and C, which, as well as removing free radicals, support muscle recovery. What is more, the low starch and sugar content, together with the absence of cereals, lucerne and molasses, reduces the risk of excitability and of an allergic reaction to the mash.
